  • [Help] How to wake up a bunch of dinosaurs ?

Hello folks. First, let me introduce myself (quickly): I've been a developer for 5 years. I coded some winforms/webapps/console apps in VB6, then a lot web applications in Java and now I'm just using .NET (mostly C#). I'm NOT a "powercoder".I'm... let's say, probably slightly...

  • Re: Bug in FileSystemWatcher - .NET 2

bmoneil, thank you very much for your post. You are right: i never configured filesystemwatcher's buffer size. And, actually, the behaviour of the error matchs that possible mistake: some guy drop files in the directory, FSW detects a few file operations, it stops detecting at some "random" point, and...

pauluskc: aftli: The real WTF is that you are still using IE6. Shame on you. actually, that's yet another MS WTF. I can't for some reason seem to run any updates and so I can't get IE7 to install. Their error message: "a problem has occurred installing these updates." Yeah. thanks for that really informative...

  • Re: "Go Faster, Crash Less"

I actually joined up to reply to this (after reading without joining for a year) - not very WTFey at all, especially considering that if Virgin hadn't invested in the new, decent, rolling stock, the crash would have been seriously worse, with one survivor more likely than the one fatality. Not sure why...

  • Re: Best Tag Cloud Ever

WTF is up with people using Wingdings (or whatever) glyphs as tags? Is anyone's default font actually large enough that those symbols are recognizable? I think in general tag clouds are pretty useless, but I have to admit there is some entertainment value in reading the list as a sentence. My new favorite...

  • Re: Every Day I see code and say WTF.

I've got a solution for your problem but I'm not sure if the law allows it: a straight punch on the nose for every fscked up line.
