Hello I am current working with my other coders in our new upgrade for our java application version. After almost 2 years of "stabilise" the code we are now ready for major upgrade to version 1.1.6 from 1.0.2. In past we have had many problems with new version but now we are confident of changes working and also we have made a copy of the codes on hard drive to "rollback" if we have errors. I am trying to find list of changes from 1.0.2 to 1.1.6 but cannot see them on Sun website? I need them for making "risk" document my manager has said must be written and reviewed by manager commitee before we can make change. Please tell me any change from 1.0.2. I have these changes before from last time but I lose them.

Downgrade of 1.1 to 1.0.2

Hello friend. 1 year ago I upgrade company application from 1.0.2 to 1.1 version of java. Unfortunately since upgrade we have had many problem. I even try to upgrade to 1.2.2 but also we have problem with this version. My boss now say he want to roll back to version 1.0.2 to see if this fix errors. Only problem is we not version application 1 year ago and we have made many changes. What is best way to see if new changes may not work? Please respond.

 

To be fair, I pity anyone tasked with moving a legitimate AWT application from Java 1.0 up to the modern day.   Of course, given this guy's posting record, I don't think that's the problem.

Incredible! That's just brightened my day no end! 

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the "bugs" he encountered in Java 1.1 was that Thread.suspend() and its brethren stopped working. I have seen people try to use those methods in 21st-century code. And yes, it's an epic WTF to even try.

Some people are not only new to java but new to computers and forums. Is not easy for them to post first question 100% correct but if they do not they get rude reply and most never post here again. This is not good for java.

I guess a "new to computers" person should be responsible for giving risk assessments for upgrading to a different java version.

That wasn't just a typo or spelling mistake.

That was obviously a complete lack of understanding of how to spell a simple word. To the point I doubt google would have been able to help you if you actually needed to learn something about precision.

He actually shunned someone for posting a link to Java tutorial when a guy asked for "What are Types". He claimed that they should answer the question completely in that forum, not reference someone to some reading material... He later went on to actually ask what is a Type in that same thread, after giving advice on it.

lim(x) = 1 means exactly that x can not be 1. So concluding x = 1 as a result is incorrect IMO.

But the other proofs are okay with me.

He got one thing right.  He's no mathematician. 

I still don't see how people can debate .999... = 1? Its simple, there are THREE mathematical proofs to it. Do they need it printed on the side of the dildo shoved up their nose? Like whats next, they gona dispute the laws of physics (I love how freshmen start arguing with Physics PHDs about how gravety does pull things at different rates[happened in my wife's class]).
