Worse Than Failure Questionnaire WTF?
Please tell me this has unspoken <sarcasm> tags around it!
Note: for faster survey processing, please print out this survey and mail to: WTF Survey Processing Department #4J-WTF 44 Front St, Suite 200 Berea, OH 44017
If it was intentional it's funny, and if they're being serious it's even more funny...I laugh either way.

Should have said print it out, place on wooden table, photograph it, scan it, email the scanned copy in for faster processing.

Re: Worse Than Failure Questionnaire WTF?
Interesting. That wasn't there when I took it. All I got was a "For quality control purposes, please leave this question blank"

I was tempted to select "file not found", but decided against it. Did any of you try to select "A well-reasoned, humorous, and insightful reply" as the answer for what you'd do if you were first in commenting?

It's the very last thing on the survey, under the "Submit" button.

Yeah, and then i disabled JS and actually selected it. That's what you get for client side verification!

+1 INT I didn't feel like hitting that menu option (Opera 9).

I wonder how many people chose "not blank". Here's one.

I did that too. I hope client-side verification only was intentional.

No, they actually think that it would be faster to mail it. Seriously, this is a humor site. Do they really need to put a giant blinking-red "this is a joke" sign on everything before you get it?

I changed it to '; DROP TABLE users; --, but got an error when I tried to submit it :(

I considered it, but in the end decided it would be untrue. 8=] But I selected a non-default blank in the QA question. I wonder if Alex will publish some statistics.
And that statement about mail... It wasn't there, indeed.

Re: Worse Than Failure Questionnaire WTF?
I chose a random blank option for it. And yeah the questionnaire has a few in-jokes and references."Worst. Namechange. Ever" is a quote from a comment/forum post (forgot which). The "blank for quality control purposes" thing, and "file not found" we know, and "The Real WTF is" is probably the biggest cliche on the site. No doubt the mailing business is from a story too.

- Print it out
- Photo copy it (for security)
- place on desk
- take a picture
- photocopy the picture (to ensure scanner picks it up right)
- scan it in to your computer
- email the copy to yourself (for an extra record)
- print it
- put it in an envelope
- go to post office (for even greater accuracy)
- ship it
- remember you forgot to place a stamp
- repeat steps 1-10 but this time put a stamp on
- repeat step 11
Just 14 easy steps...

Re: Worse Than Failure Questionnaire WTF?
m0ffx:"Worst. Namechange. Ever" is a quote from a comment/forum post (forgot which).
Which in turn was a reference to a Simpsons episode in which Comic Book Guy is reviewing the previous night's Itchy and Scratchy episode. What he said was "Worst. Episode. Ever" and the middle word has been changed out to refer to many other things, like presidents.
I guess I'm back.

Re: Worse Than Failure Questionnaire WTF?
Here are a few more WTFs in the survey... 1) The leave this blank question has the following choices: blank, blank, blank, blank, not blank <-- literally that, blank, blank, file not found, blank, blank 2) When you are asked what you will post as first reply if you choose "something inteligable" you get a popup "that is not an acceptable answer" either the survey is a joke in itself, the survey is meant to be funny, or the site creators just don't learn form their own articles :)

If you were wondering, yes, you win the Geekiest Reply of the Century Award for that comment. And it's only 2007 - good show!
All in all, this is either the stupidest thing I've read all week (and I'm porting SSDS to .NET!), or the worst trolling attempt ever. -bstorer

Re: Worse Than Failure Questionnaire WTF?
Didn't we have a thread the other day about people replying to threads before reading all the replies given thus far?

I reckon they were quality control questions. Eg, anyone who left the 'please leave this blank' question with the first blank obviously is either a newcomer or has never read the site at all. (I answered 'file not found' as it seemed like the logically correct one). Alternatively the 'bugs' were added as a bit of humour. ;)

Sure, but you didn't expect people to read it, did you?
